Day 3 Melbourne-Gold Mine One-day Tour Sovereign Hill
Ballarat, a famous gold rush ancient city in the 19th century, is 113 kilometers away from Melbourne city. In this inconspicuous area, there were gold mines that made the world crazy, so it was named "New Gold Mountain". The Chinese miners who came from afar without fear of hardships also left their souls and legends here.
In Sovereign Hill, you can experience the town life during the heyday of the gold rush in the 1850s, experience the ancient method of gold panning, and relive the historical dreams of a hundred years ago. The town is full of surprising and interesting things waiting for you to discover one by one: panning for gold in a ore dressing pot, exploring underground gold mines, and watching how broken gold stones are made into gold bars. You can go into every building on the street to take a look. Some are grandmothers teaching girls embroidery, some are children listening to the teacher's earnest teachings, and sometimes the police catch thieves on the street. Don't be shy, let alone embarrassed to disturb these dedicated professional actors. As long as you are brave enough to speak, the people in the gold town will be very enthusiastic to take photos with you! Of course, you can also choose to hire a carriage on the road to tour the town (the carriage is at your own expense). After visiting the gold rush town, if time permits, you will visit the alpaca farm or the pastoral winery St Annes’. You can stroll through the winery and enjoy the scenery (wine tasting is at your own expense), or go to the alpaca farm instead, depending on the conditions of the day. The farm sells a variety of alpaca-related products, and you can get close to the alpacas and take pictures.
-Performances and experience activities
Gold panning by the river (the gold sand you find can be taken away as a souvenir)
Take a mine car to visit the underground mine
Theatre performances at irregular times and locations
Take a horse-drawn carriage (at your own expense: AU$6 for adults and AU$4.5 for children, you need to make a reservation at Horse Bazaar on the same day)
-Sovereign Hill
Sovereign Hill, located in the gold rush town of Ballarat in Victoria, is a very important historical and cultural tourist attraction in Australia. It has won the national award for Australia's major tourist attractions twice. When people discovered gold in Ballarat in 1851, Ballarat quickly developed into a wealthy and beautiful city "built on gold". Many of the largest gold nuggets found in the world came from Ballarat, and gold can still be found on the hills around the city.
At Sovereign Hill, you can experience life during the great gold rush of the 1850s. You can pan for gold with a ore dressing pot, explore an underground gold mine, and watch pure gold being made into shining bars. You can take photos of the people in the gold town for free, or you can take a horse-drawn carriage to tour the town.

Arrive at the most famous attraction of the Great Ocean Road-the Twelve Apostles. The twelve rocks standing majestically on the coast show the wonders of nature and people's rich imagination. If time permits, you can also take a helicopter at your own expense to overlook the magnificent scenery of the Twelve Apostles.
After enjoying the magnificent scenery, continue to Loch Ard Gorge, also known as Liuhe Valley, and return to Melbourne after a short rest to end the day's journey.
・Great Ocean Road
The Great Ocean Road, located in the west of Melbourne, is one of Australia's most famous natural landscapes. Driving on the Great Ocean Road, you can enjoy the magnificent ocean scenery along the Australian coast, shuttle through the strange rock landscape, and pass through the lovely towns and seaside fishing ports in Victoria. Be prepared to embark on this wonderful journey with anticipation and enjoy the most wonderful feast of nature.
・Twelve Apostles
The Twelve Apostles are giant rock formations that rise from the Southern Ocean and are an important attraction in Port Campbell National Park that you must see. These stone formations were originally limestone cliffs, and after 10 to 20 million years of continuous erosion, they became the relics of today. The violent waves of the Southern Ocean and the strong sea wind gradually eroded the softer limestone, forming caves in the cliffs. The caves gradually turned into stone arches, and after the collapse, the stones were stacked to 45 meters high, isolated from the coast.
・Apollo Bay
Located in the south of Victoria, South Australia, the bay is half-moon-shaped and has beautiful scenery. It was a whaling station in the 1930s and is now a famous surfing tourist destination.
・Loch Ard Gorge
Loch Ard Gorge is also known as Liuhe Valley. A British immigrant ship named Loch Ard ran aground on the way to Melbourne. In order to commemorate the victims, later generations built a tomb and named this place Loch Ard. Loch Ard Gorge is only about 2 kilometers away from the Twelve Apostles. Here you can see the rock landscape of the canyon up close, and you can walk along the canyon stairs to the seaside to enjoy the scenery.
・Take a helicopter tour of the Great Ocean Road (at your own expense)
Take the 12 Apostles Helicopters helicopter and take you to overlook the Shipwreck Coast and Port Campbell National Park from the air from a unique perspective. On the way, you will fly over the 12 Apostles Rocks, fly to the Bay of Islands via London Bridge, or fly to the Cape Otway Lighthouse to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the entire Shipwreck Coast. Take a comfortable and safe helicopter to experience the unparalleled spectacular coastline. The 12 Apostles Helicopters will provide you with the highest security and meticulous service to bring you an unforgettable experience.
